| Hmmm. I thought I read earlier that finishing the KIIP program gives you the intermediate TOPIK points? So the only way to get more points from TOPIK beyond what KIIP gives you is to get Level5/6 I think? |

| Yep that's true. I'm in the 25-29 age bracket though, so I'll be short 1 point without something extra. I might look into volunteering as well. It seems like it would be much easier than a level 5 TOPIK result. |

| The easiest way to get one extra point towards the F-2-7 is to do 20 hours of documented volunteer work, which counts as "less than 1 year" of volunteer experience. Contact Immi for more details on where you can go and how to get it documented. |

That sounds perfect.
Thanks a lot for the heads up. I've been a little stressed out because I just don't think I can finish the university program. I've been having a hard enough time juggling with work and school lately. |

| No problem. I still recommend finishing the Sogang program. You'll learn way more Korean from that than you would from KIIP classes, but by all means hurry up and get that f-visa. |

| Just wondering if anyone has had any luck finding a weekend level 4 class in or around Seoul, or gotten any hint that one might be in the works? Today's the last day to sign up for the MWF class that might be doable for me, so just want to double-check before I take the plunge. |

| I just went with the MWF one at ewha. There's may be one in Dongducheon, but I don't much feel like spending 4 hours on the subway every Sunday. |

I wanted to do that as well, but there's no way I can make a 6pm class. At the same time, while I might be able to make one of the 6:30pm classes out in northeast Seoul, I would probably be 10 minutes or so late every day and I've heard the attendance policies can be a bit strict.
Do you have any details about the Dongducheon course you could share? The commute would be rough for me as well--but it may be my only option at this point. |

I don't know much. I think it was Sunday afternoons, but they didn't have enough people to form a class yet.
One of the other poster's told me about it.
I don't know what your schedule is like, but I'm actually doing the morning one (10-1). |

Thanks for posting back. Do you think if I called Immigration they would have information? There's nothing about it on the website from what I can tell...
I work from morning until around 6pm, so that really only leaves me with the evening classes, which are too far away for me to get to on time unfortunately (at least according to the list of classes the website shows me). Hopefully, I'll be able to figure something out in the next day or so, though. |

I'll forward the PM I was sent.
Side note, my spelling/grammar has been atrocious in this post. |

There's a level 4 class that will run in Cheonan from 9am-5pm every Sunday. I realize it's quite far, just thought I'd pass on the information. As you are registered in the Seoul district I don't know whether you would be able to join it, though. When I asked about participating in a Seoul class (weekend classes are severely near Daejeon), I was told that I could not as I wasn't registered in that area. I also asked about the possibility of doing it online. The person at the local immigration centre then said that while that might be an option in the future, the online programme is not up and running yet.
Good luck. |

Thanks again for forwarding that, furtakk.
And thank you, Charriere. I'll look into the Cheonan class as well as the one furtakk mentioned, but I'm worried that I'll run into the same issue you did--being told I can't attend because I'm registered in another district. We'll see what happens, though, I guess.
I believe others on here have posted about taking the online classes, but perhaps that was for a different class or something else is different this time. |

| they seem to change stuff all the time. You now need kiip or topik two to get the f2-99. So it looks like i might have to do kiip. Ive heard from some people that you can do four levels on a year. Others say its only two. Anyone know what it is now? |

They like to take long (2-3 months) breaks between semesters of KIIP, so if you're starting from scratch, it would take 2 years. Even if you could take it in 1, it would still be easier to study for and pass the Level 2 TOPIK test. Find some good textbooks like Ross King's Elementary Korean/Continuing Korean or study through the free Sogang University online Korean course (http://korean.sogang.ac.kr/). |
