Okay this may be a stupid question so forgive a newbie. I live in Bundang. Where does one buy deodorant at? I checked the groceries in EMart and several of the local mom and pop stores.

Am I not looking in the right place?

Whew! I stink! Laughing

Most Koreans don't use deodorant.

Try: The Body Shop, black market

Where are these located? In Bundang? Or somewhere like Itaewon? Directions would be appreciated.

There are many Body Shops in Korea. There must be one in Bundang somewhere.

For the black market, try Hanam Supermarket in Hanamdong. Get on bus 1005-1 and get off at Danguk University. The supermarket is under the Volvo dealership.

Try those makeup shops and perfume shops, they usually have a section for men and it usually contains deodorant.

I do believe there is still a Body Shop located at Samsung Plaza. As for black market shops, they're around. I know of one that was located in Yatap-dong, but don't know if it's still there. You'll just have to ask around, I guess. Seems to me lots of Koreans know where to get those black market items.

I use baking soda. Deoderate is too painful, it makes my arm pits swell to the size of small ferousous looking puffer fish.

i was a spray-on kinda guy my whole life.. but, korea changed that..

i was given a calvin klein roll-on for my birthday in 2002, i used liberal anounts everyday and it lasted me 15 months. it cost 45,000 (she left the price tag on) but it was damn good value.. didn't sweat, didn't stink.. i have cologne for those 'special' times, although mr. klein has a nice smell, the cologne was sometimes good for a change...

i just replaced it 2 months ago with a ralph lauren job for 28,000.. it isn't as effective and it is not going to go anywhere near the distance..

my advice, for what its worth.... don't waste money on sprays, or cheap roll-ons... spend up the first time and get a quality b.o. basher that will last and do the job well..

good luck

I might have surplus I could sell you (UK brands Superdrug/Boots).

I would be willing to sell for just under retail price. PM if interested.

You can find deoderant in the basements of the big clothing malls in Dongdaemun. There is also a place near Kangnam Station that sells imported things, like deoderant (I could show you). Hannam Market, near Itaewon, also has deoderant. There is a Body Shop at Samsung Plaza (Seohyeon Station-two stops away from Jeongja), but I've never seen deoderant there (but I wasn't really looking for it). It is a little extra pricey here (5000-8000 Won).

Red Door in Itaewon also has lots of Western toiletries and over-the-counter medicines. Bit pricey, but worth it IMO.

You could always get a friend or family member to air mail some. Wouldn't cost too much, I imagine.

wylde, the CK stuff sounds great.

I use Speed Stick Clear. Three or four last two years for me. A visit to Canada fixes me up.

Deodorant and toothpaste, even if I can find them here, don't satisfy me unless they are certain brands. Speed Stick Clear and Crest Regular Mint Everything else fine.

Hold it a minute. 6 months per deoderant?

You're sure about that?
