The documents, released after long delay in the week between Christmas and New Year, show a nationwide meta-plot unfolding in city after city in an Orwellian world: six American universities are sites where campus police funneled information about students involved with OWS to the FBI, with the administrations' knowledge (p51); banks sat down with FBI officials to pool information about OWS protesters harvested by private security; plans to crush Occupy events, planned for a month down the road, were made by the FBI and offered to the representatives of the same organizations that the protests would target; and even threats of the assassination of OWS leaders by sniper fire by whom? Where? now remain redacted and undisclosed to those American citizens in danger, contrary to standard FBI practice to inform the person concerned when there is a threat against a political leader (p61). |
Hippies thought they'd go camping in New York and peacefully change the world (Hollywood tells them non-violent protest works...who are we to argue?). Banks and the government easily destroyed it.
The den of vipers and thieves that is the government-bankster usurious complex will easily roll over any mainstream liberal and/or left opposition. |
They at least succeeded in getting the 1% (actually more like 0.1%) versus the 99% split into the mainstream discourse. But protest or activism must be sustained over the long term if it is to have an effect. *If* sustained, however, it certainly does rock the 'usurious complex'. |

I don't think so at all. Aside from the massive cliche of class warfare and red-herrings like the 'wealth gap', I don't think your average schmo has any clue who the so-called "1%" actually are (i.e. the names of the actual people who control the financial system). Most of them actually think Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are nice guys who wants to pay more taxes (hint: they actually keep all their wealth tied up tax-exempt foundations). Very few people are even aware that the Federal Reserve is a private banking cartel. Celebrities like Michael Moore (the walking contradiction) blames all the problems caused by big government corporatism on so-called "capitalism" and they all eat it up. To me the whole thing was just a celebration of unabashed ignorance by probably well-meaning, but hopelessly clueless people. |
