Hi, i could do with some help on an unusual situation. Ill try and keep the background brief.

I work at 2 academies - 2 days and 3 days.
On Friday I handed in my notice, expecting to be canned within the week - which I would have been happy with.

Yesterday, my (Mrs 3 days) boss told me that the other boss (Mr 2 days) wants me to stay another 7 months - to the end of my contract.

She said if I do, she will still pay me the flight/severance/health insurance, and allow me to stay in my apt (providing I pay the rent myself) and she will retrieve the key money when I'm finished.
I will also get 1,500,000 per month pay - for 2 days a week work (this means I just need to find another 1/2 days a week to top up my pay).

To, me, this offer seems a little bit mental, but she has done things like this in the past (grandiose gestures) - including for the previous teacher and myself.

problems

- if I refuse, I also risk losing a chance at getting a d-10.

- Mr 2 days a week isnt doing so good at the moment - his students are dropping like flies. He's re-advertising his school for adult students though but I have only 2 at the moment. The 2 days Im there, Im the only teacher.

Your biggest problem is that you are violating your E-2 visa status by working at more than one place. Did you get permission from immigration to work at more than one school? You also said that you were happy with being canned, but then later you write that you are worried about getting a D-10. A letter of release is needed to switch to a D-10 if your contract hasn't expired yet.

It will be a miserable 7 months living off 1,500,000 a month and having to pay rent. You would be better off just leaving and going home for 7 months.

cheers for the reply.

As far as I know, both school names are on the E2 ( i seem to remember them both having to go to immi.). Im looking into that right now.

I would have preferred to be canned and find another job, or at least apply for a d-10 so that I have the option of returning here should I want to.

I hear what youre saying about the money though...
