I booked a ticket to Thailand, but on my return I have a 7 hour layover in Beijing. I arrive at 6:30 am and my flight out is at 1:30.
I've been to Beijing, so I'm not interested in doing a tour or anything, but if I can take the high speed airport train and do an hour or two of wandering, and have some breakfast, I might be up for it. but I've also heard that terminal 3 (where I will be) is huge and has a lot to do.
Should I stay in the airport or make an effort to get out and into Beijing for an hour or two.
Any advice? |

Do you have a visa to China? |

You don't need one if you're staying for less than 48 hours. |

I understand that you don't need a visa if you are staying for only a few hours. Seems simple enough.
Basically I'm wondering if I will have enough time to take the train to somewhere moderately interesting , have some breakfast and stretch my legs.
Any thoughts? |

Because of the length of your layover they might give you a 24 hour stamp on your passport without a visa. |
