If you're at a grocery store and you want to ask the employees if the beef is grass-fed (rather than grain-fed) how do you say that in Korean?

| 목초사육 (grass-fed) 쇠고기 입니까? 곡물비육(grain-fed) 쇠고기 입니까? i don't think employees care. they will just say how the beef taste good or source. |

emacs is right, but if you ask be prepared for the employee to look at you as if you came from outer space. Employees in your average supermarket won't have a clue, you may have a better chance in a specialty butcher shop somewher. Most Koreans either don't know there is a difference or simply don't care. It's not at all a common question in this country. |

You must think that I can read Hanguel characters. Well, I can mostly, but another list member asked me this question and may not have that skill, so I'll see if I can get the Anglicized spelling right. Please feel free to correct me.

| I've never understood why "우" is latinized as "u" rather than "oo" when the latter is more accurate and less ambiguous. |

| 곡물 is gongmul because the ㄱ and the ㅁ change the pronunciation. |
