I am pretty easy going and I have been here for quite a while, but there are still certain things I find totally unacceptable.

1/ Public spitting. I think Charles Dickens put it best: "The thing itself is an exaggeration of nastiness, which cannot be outdone."

2/ Drivers who speed through a new red light so they don't have to wait one or two minutes. The stupidity of this borders on criminal.

3/ Foreigners who complain too much. Laughing

Getting rammed out of the way by people when getting on the bus, I have noticed Koreans do this to each other as well though not just to foreigners, it seems people have no concept of the queue system.

All the leggy, short-skirted, dolled up honeys I see showing off those beautiful thighs everytime I step outside my officetel. I'll never 'get used to it', but oh golly do I like it. (and no, I'm not referring to the Canadian women!)

You know....I am sure that koreans and other nationalities from around the world also have "Things you will NEVER get used to" in Canada, The USA, Australia, etc.
Remember...different country, culture, etc...different rules of society.
I am not siding with koreans....and I agree with all the posts'....but...different country!

Yes I am not saying they should change the things I mentioned, if thats their culture and how they want to live fair enough. I will be gone in a year so it makes no difference to me in the long term really. Certain things however would make their own lives easier and possibly more enjoyable if they took a different perspective on them.

Large, burly university senior males, who have finished the military and have that military bearing, short hair, serious, whipping out a Pooh pencil case.

Fried anchovy snacks, anchovy fried rice, anchovy anything.

The fact that Koreans whine about every little ailment go to the doctor for literally EVERYTHING. One of my co-workers told me when she was living abroad in NZ she went to the doctor because her feet were too cold and they wouldn't warm up. I was like, "well, what did they tell you?" She said, "The doctor told me to submerge them in hot water and wait a while."

Yeah.

Oh, and opening windows in the dead of winter when the heat's on because they need "fresh air."

Same in the summer when the AC is on.

I just want to know how small are these guys calling Korean males large and burly. I don't think I have seen any guy in Korea the past two and a half years I would call burly. But large and burly?
