| My friend and I are thinking of going to Hainan for a 1 week vacation this summer.Does anyone have any advice for us? Do you recommend Hainan? Was it cheap? Thanks! |

My friend went there last year.
Said that it was a bit overdeveloped but nice enough but in hindsight would not have gone just there. She stayed in a homestay set up and said that was great though. |

Oh, is that the island?
Yes, the EP3 is actually a surveillance plane. And it does some really cool stuff.  |

I went there for two weeks back when I was living in China.
Nothing really special.
If you are in the area and have the time and money it might be worth a short stopover, but I definetly won't make a trip solely to see it. |

| I lived in Zhanjiang, the gateway city to Hainan for about 3 months a few years ago and I absolutely HATED it. I didn't visit Hainan but know a few people who did... I did, however, visit some other nearby beaches and islands which were OK, certainly cheap, but full of rip-off merchants. I wouldn't recommend it as a top choice of holiday destinations. I'll never go back ... urgh *shudder* |
