I wouldn't get a Kindle to read PDFs. I've got one (Kindle 3 wifi, got in 2011), and I absolutely adore it when I am reading ebooks. I would not give it up for anything in the world. But I also am a scholar, and need to read copious numbers of PDFs for research purposes. For this I have an ipad. You could get a Kindle DX, which has the same size screen as the ipad, for the e-ink, but honestly, if you're reading something as short as your average journal article, you don't need it, and you might as well fork over the extra $100 for the ipad in all its glory. |
