The CEO of Open World Entertainment was arrested at a property he owns in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul, Tuesday for allegedly raping and harassing five trainee entertainers, police said Wednesday.

The entertainment company is as an agent for former K-pop group Shinhwa’s Jun Jin.

The CEO, surnamed Chang, was arrested after a month-long police investigation.

The police began questioning Chang in March when one of the entertainers at his firm reported him to the police, and are currently checking whether there are any more victims.

The five victims reportedly testified that Chang had even ordered male members of K-pop groups to rape them.

Open World Entertainment is one of the largest entertainment agencies in Korea which initiated various hallyu (Korean wave) projects. Jun Jin, K-pop group The boss, actor Ko Joo-won are some of the stars belonging to the agency.

Just confirms what insiders have known for a while.

The fact that it's made it to a public news source is novel.

As we know what the police are made of, probably won't have that much of an effect, guys like Chang will just be more careful, and with the same government in place there won't be much change in the social environment.

Kangnam styl-lee will continue to rule the airwaves and be the centerpiece for overseas promotions.

Well with DJ and Roh you had stuff like the "Winter Sonata" drama taking center stage with the likes of BOA and a coupla boy bands on the side; Winer Sonata hit huge in Japan as it hit a nostalgic nerve about values forgotten about and gone out of fashion.

The latest update-

http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2012/04/286_109582.html

At least 11 singing aspirants were forced to have sex with singers of an entertainment agency in southern Seoul.

But the actual number of victims could be much more with the Gangnam Police Station refusing to disclose details of the case.

At first, the case was regarded as a “bad practice” in the showbiz industry when it was revealed. However, after it became known that two male members of a K-pop group represented by the company were forced to rape the girls, all society was shocked.

Chang, the former boss of a criminal gang and owner of a nightclub, had managed all the processes in person from screening to training the aspirants, many of whom were forced to have sex with actors and singers belonging to the agency.

Despite this, no victims dared to report the forced sex to the police as Chang reportedly threatened them, saying, “There is no one in the entertainment community whom I don’t know.”

On the Internet, the idol group Boss and Jun Jin have been circulated as suspects in the sex crimes.
