Maybe he figured these guys, one of which was Trayvon's age, were just normal kids because they wore hoodies?[/u]

I'm pretty sure that hoodies are a race neutral age thing. I certainly wore hoodies when I was younger a lot, as did most of my friends/peers, regardless of race or thuggery.

Exactly.

But would you wear one to a job interview? If not, then why not? Would you be worried about peoples' perceptions about you? Would that have to do with race?

Personally, I think Geraldo was spot-on, and I was sad to see him apologize.

I wouldn't wear a hoodie to a job interview for the same reason I wouldn't wear a t-shirt to a job interview.

Ughh...this is turning out to be like the trench-coat stigma after Columbine but instead of students that were bullied or unpopular, it is black males.

That's dumb, I'm not calling you dumb, but the sentiment is. I wouldn't wear jeans to an interview, so that makes them thug wear? I know that if it were white kids, people wouldn't say anything about wearing hoodies. I do know that when I worked with the YMCA they gave us staff hoodies to wear when it was cold and when we were working with kids and meeting parents in the winter we would wear them. Geraldo was wrong.
