Couldn't one in theory hook up their old 56k modem and dial long distance to some museum-preserved Netzero or AOL server and surf wherever? Nothing like waiting 3 minutes to see a single screen capture picture of some nude scene from a movie. |

Hotspot Shield does the trick. Some ads if you don't want to pay for it, but it works well.
I wonder if this anti-porn push is because of the growth of Christianity in this country. They do so love to meddle. |

good lcuk. i taught in a hs and quite a few boys had japanese porn on the cellphones.
theyd ask me about sex now and then.
One time, a really nice boy who was always horny asked me if I thought masturbation was wrong, in class, and ALLLLLL the boys looked at me to answer, you could have heard a pin drop. I said its your choice to decide if its wrong or not. They all loved me after that....
That boy also told me when he got laid for the first time. He wasnt a great English speaker, but he really tried, so thats cool. |

Advanced photo and video recognition software can identify pornography and remove from any/all sites at the ISP level.
Porn is - and I say this without trying to be an arrogant jerk - for losers and any society that allows itself to be blanketed in porn without the slightest effort to diminish the prevalence probably doesn't have much of a future. |

Yes. Saudi Arabia and Yemen do have a brighter future than Canada or the Netherlands. |

Yes, that's right. They actually have a future. We don't have enough babies to have a future. |

Yes we do. Women just are baby making factories anymore. |

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one, Titus, or should I say, Spengler. The Romans were awash in what we would consider pornography almost from their very beginnings and look how long it took them to fall. Never mind all the other ancient peoples who tended to use their equipment for more than just procreation. Perhaps there are other causes for a declining birth rate and supposed moral decay besides masturbation? |

TED Talks. They correlate highly with bullshit, so they must therefore cause it. QED. |

The quantity, quality, form and availability of video pornography surpasses anything the Romans would have had access to. I made no reference to Rome anyway.

I've made no reference to masturbation separate from porn either.

The elite Romans had slaves. Many of these were sex slaves or at least dual use. They had orgies and vomitoriums and fertility festivals and all manner of pagan happiness.
You're right, the elite Romans didn't have the ubiquity of imagery, and certainly these delights were reserved for the elites only. They did have on balance more smells, touch, and taste to make up for the lack of sound and sight.
What is my point? My point is, the two paragraphs above have roughly as much scientific validity and formal rigor as anything Zimbardo has produced on the End of Men . . . sorry, he had another title, but you get the gist. |

Well of course, and really you should point out to this fellow that you never even implied that pornography and masturbation are the root causes of postmodern society's dissolution, and thus that he was grappling rather quaintly with a strawman. Still, there is something willfully blind in a mentality, such as his, that seeks categorically to separate the plague of pornography and onanism from "supposed moral decay", as if they were not in themselves actually an extreme form of moral decay. But I'm confident that every man knows, on some level, the truth of the matter, regardless what half-hearted calls he makes for "scientific validity". |

So what evidence can you present? |
