Even here in Canada they've been chronically out of stock at most stores for the 8gb version, so I've been looking into other stuff.

The Ainol Fire and Ainol Crystal are really good substitutes for about half the price.

Does anyone order from the online Chinese sites and get stuff shipped into Korea? I'm shipping mine to Canada but I'd like to know for the future.

Well, I guess it's (just about) here!

16G for 299,000 KRW, or about $267 according to the news article.

http://thenextweb.com/asia/2012/09/27/google-launches-nexus-7-south-korea-its-second-asian-market/

Says it will be available at retails such as Hi-Mart and Lottemart.

Yeah I saw a big poster in Hi-Mart yesterday saying they'll be in soon.

299,000 is a really good price for the 16GB too.

I'm getting one Wink

You certainly can. This beast will play just about anything.

You can just change system language during setup on android devices. I don't see why this would be any different.

Yeah, cool. I didn't know if android had the same dumb language restrictions as Windows.

Any idea when/if I'll be able to buy one in store? So far it seems Hi-mart is only taking pre-orders. I was hoping to watch a movie on my way to Sokcho this weekend...

Picked one up at wall mart last week. I like the Nexus 7, it's nice, but I will do my reading on my Kindle paperwhite - preordered it today, available in 3 weeks from Amazon.

Google note, this is pretty cool...

Has anybody seen these in stock anywhere? My local Hi-Mart doesn't even have a display model, only a poster. I want one today!

These have been on back-order on various websites for weeks.

Personally, I will be amazed when they are allowed to be sold in Samsung land at such a reduced price compared to Samsung products. If lack of availability does not keep them out, I am sure other local reasons will delay them even more, just like the first Iphone.

That said, I am not at all impressed with the flat blahness of the screen's color. The comparison video on YT showing it side-by-side with a mac mini makes it look pretty awful. Different price point, but still....

Then there are growing complaints about screen separations. Might have something to do with why Google is going with Samsung to manufacture the Nexus 10.

The dumb language restrictions ended with XP. The oldest version of Android is newer than that.

Hey, the guy in Hi-mart near Sungshin station told me that I if I pay my money now, I'll get the Nexus 7 in a day or two. I didn't want one, and they had one on display (battery was run down).

I wasn't sure if I could believe him or not, but that's what he said.

I might just wait and try to find a way of getting a Nexus 10 in from the States. They won't be available here for ages I'm guessing.
