Hi, I have less than 6 months left on my visa(E2).

Can I still go visit China from August 15th?

Thanks for any help.

IF and ONLY IF you have previously visited China within the past 2 years, and such a fact can be proven by your previous Chinese visa as well as immigration stamp. In that case, as I've been told, your Korean ARC getting expired in less than 6 months becomes irrelevant, and you get exempted from that requirement.

Otherwise, you need to find a travel agency in your home country, send your passport to your agent in order to obtain Chinese visa there by proxy.

I was in China, Honkong a little while back. It was like a weekend lay-over less than 2 years ago. Does that count?

Was that layover with a proper visa, or without? Did you use that 48-hour exemption rule or something like that?

Only Hong Kong? Nope doesn't count. For visa purposes they are considered separate countries.

You used to be able to exploit a loophole by using one of the consulates rather than the embassy. While they may have closed it, I would just contact a bunch of travel agents and see if any of them can help you.
