Senseless.

I've heard talk of body armor and shooting at the crowd.

If ppl have that much of a bloodlust, why not pick a cause and fight with an army or force or something?

There are so many dictators and genuinely evil people that one could give their life assassinating... strange that it doesn't happen a lot more often.

24 year old James Holmes terrorizes hundreds, massacres 12 at movie cinema with a bad reputation in Aurora CO., suburb of Denver.
http://edition.cnn.com/2012/07/20/us/colorado-theater-shooting/index.html
With a name like Homes maybe he always felt inferior to John Holmes ('Boogie Nights' 1997) and others teased him about it? One thing is for sure he ain't got nothing on Cho, Seung-Hui of the Virginia Tech 2007 massacre where 33 were killed. As Obama said, my thoughts are with the victims, families, and friends of all those involved.

yes, vigilante justice, that's appropriate for a congressman to recommend

Rolling Eyes

seriously what kind of world do people like this imagine they'd like to see ? Shocked

"People say ... where was God in all of this?" Gohmert said. "We've threatened high school graduation participations, if they use God's name, they're going to be jailed ... I mean that kind of stuff. Where was God? What have we done with God? We don't want him around. I kind of like his protective hand being present."

Yes, if only everyone had earlier prayed to Jesus and asked for God's blessings.

"Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) questioned why nobody else in the theater had a gun to take down the shooter.
Gohmert also said the tragedy could have been lessened if someone else in the movie theater had been carrying a gun and took down the lone shooter. Istook noted that Colorado laws allow people to carry concealed guns."
"It does make me wonder, with all those people in the theater, was there nobody that was carrying a gun that could have stopped this guy more quickly?" he asked."

Gohmert should've waited to hear what James Holmes was wearing before he spouted off. Even if someone had a gun and started shooting they would've probably ended up dead since the assailant was protected...
He was dressed head-to-toe in black bullet-proof gear, including helmet, vest, leggings and a groin and throat protector.

I also heard that people were also hit/injured while watching the movie in the next theaters as bullets went through walls.

You can blaspheme His name in public but if someone prays in public..oh they're fanatics.

You shall not murder.

But the USA doesn't want moral absolutes so anything goes. We don't want to be intolerant and judgmental so how dare anyone make moral judgment calls.

The shooter is white so it is going to be harder for the gun apologists to blame it on the gangster rap.

Sure, let us blame the metal and brass and not hold IDIOTIC PEOPLE responsible.

Or how about we just amputate his arms and feet, put the shooter on display with a sign on his chest that reads "I'm the JOKER" and let everyone throw pebbles at him.

Everyone wants to be famous.

The nice thing about inanimate objects is that you don't actually have to apologize for them.

In all seriousness, I don't even feel the need to argue about this anymore. The U.S. recognizes the immense value of an armed citizenry and nothing you say on this forum or any other is going to change that. Similarly, no matter how many times you're reminded of the benefits of widespread gun ownership, you aren't changing your mind. You may as well give this one a pass.
