At a time when China is being aggressive all along its border, Korea 'decides' to make a stink.

This is foolish.

Korea is stuck between three much larger and much more powerful states. It's only hope of independence is to play one off against the other two.

Dude, this isn't the 1920s anymore. China isn't going to send its legions into Korea to annex it and install a puppet governor. We're in the 21st century. You know, markets and such. What exactly would China gain in terms of invading Korea? Korea's abundant natural resources and oil reserves?

You assume that the people who order invasions of other countries think logically.

Your right. Canada or Peru could all of a sudden be taken over by some nutcase who declares war on the entire world.

Now when dealing with probable instead of possible, we understand that an invasion of Korea by China is about as likely as an invasion of the US by Canada.

Now that doesn't discount some naval clashes or disputes over islands, but full-out invasion? Please. That would collapse world markets and plunge everyone into chaos. What's China going to run this war with? Some magical supply of oil that will suddenly materialize after the market goes haywire?

If China is invading Korea that means at some point it has invaded Nepal, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Taiwan, Mongolia, the Philippines and probably picked a fight with India and Russia. In short, its World War III.

Might as well wargame for a nuclear armed Dominican Republic threatening terrorist action against the U.S.
