Hi
I need to buy an external usb hard drive of may be around 500 GB
How much would it cost in Gwangju?
would it be a good idea to buy it online?
What would be an approximate price?

If you don't want anything special and USB 2.0 is OK, you can find 500GB externals as low as 80'000 won. I picked up a 500GB Imation at Emart a couple of weeks back for 90'000.

Depends on size and "brand" of the package. The guts are all the same.

You can order on-line or pop into your local home-plus/e-mart (the stores are more expensive).

You can go to Yongsan and buy a bare drive and a hard case for about 90-100k (~1tb drive). Smaller is not cheaper.

On-line: gmarket, danawa or auction. Get a Korean friend to help you order it.

If you do not want to do too much thinking and what to go with some OK brand. Go with Costco.

Prices are fair.
Return policy can prove useful.
Choice of brands are proven ones.
Plus you get a hot dog while there.
