I can't wait for people to stop posting on Facebook and everywhere about this irrelevant topic.
Same every four years, they will pick between two knuckleheads, and things will keep heading where they are headed. Meanwhile the masses will stay tied up arguing about whatever.
What a tired old game yet they never get tired of playing it? |

Yeah it's over!
Now everyone can forget about all this nonsense and stop posting all over the internet.
Let's keep our time focused on chicks and beer please. |

I've been pretty direct about wanting to see Obama out of office.
At the same time, if he wins, it will be somewhat fun watching him have to own-up to everything that happens in the next 4 years (or see where he tries to push the blame off on next -- Republicans in congress?). That, however, would be pretty tragic for the country.
In any case, as my father said, the only time anything necessary gets done is when we have one party with the presidency and the other in total control of the house/senate. Such was the case under much of Clinton's reign, and as much as Democrats like to take credit for that, Clinton didn't get ANYTHING done without working together with the Republican-controlled legislature.
Which again highlights how much Obama is NOT Bill Clinton, and needs to get the heck out. He has a "my way or the highway" attitude and prefers to find ways around working with people.
Romney HAS a record of working with Democrats. He HAS an excellent record as governor of his state (although the media doesn't want to talk about this, for obvious reasons). Also, he HAS actual business experience.
Obama... no. |
What Mitt Romney should've done is run for president of Federal Reserve, it's him that runs the economy. A president shouldn't be wasting his time balancing budgets. Governors yes, not President of USA. |

Obama's people, not so energized... not enough to get off of their butt and go the polls, anyway. They can laugh, make "biders" jokes and call Romney a rich a-hole, but getting out and voting requires actual work. The reverse happens when things aren't so bad for the country that conservatives feel the need to get out and vote.

The interesting thing is that Obama seems to have done better than the polls predicted. He won the popular vote and may have even won Florida even though polls were predicting otherwise.
Millions of white people were the ones who were not energized enough to get off their butts and vote. That's bad news for a party which largely relies on support from white voters. An estimated seven million fewer white people voted than in 2008. On the other hand, more African Americans and Latinos voted than in 2008.
I can't see things getting better for Republicans. The demographics of America are changing. It's becoming more diverse. Republicans have already alienated America's fastest growing minority group (Latinos) because of their uncompromising stance on immigration.
"With this base line, and armed with the exit-poll data, we can get a pretty good estimate of how many whites, blacks, and Latinos cast ballots in both 2008 and 2012. Assuming the 72/13/10/5 percentage split described above for 2012, that would equate to about 91.6 million votes cast by whites, 16.6 million by blacks, 12.7 million by Latinos, with the balance of 6.3 million votes spread among other groups.
"Compare this with 2008, when the numbers were 98.6 million whites, 16.3 million blacks, 11 million Latinos, and 5.9 million from other groups."
