I need to renew my E1 visa sometime next week, I'm familiar with the documents I need and the process involved. However, I was hoping to leave the country for 2 weeks at the end of January and I am wondering whether immigration will keep my ARC during the renewal process, if so, how long do they keep it for and if its for more than a few days will this affect me leaving the country on holiday at the end of the month??

help appreciated

Renewals are done on the spot, over the counter, while you wait.
You take your ARC away with you. They don't keep it.

It won't make any difference to your holiday. Have a great trip.
