Hi American expat teachers. I have started a petition on the US gov't website to allow us to contribute out after-tax income that we earned in Korea to our stateside Roth IRA's. We need 150 petitions by 11 Dec 2012 for it to publicly seen on the Open Petition Section of We the People. We need 25,000 by 11 Dec 2012. Please tell all of your American expat friends about this petition. Here is the short URL: http://wh.gov/9V8y
Here is the full URL: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/allow-american-expatriates-who-work-foreign-employers-overseas-contribute-their-roth-iras/pbgYv60J
Please sign this petition and forward it to any of your American expat friends working in other countries. We work hard for our money and we should be able to save part of it for our retirements!! |

Be careful what you wish for. They'd probably solve the problem by starting to tax foreign income fully. Then, once we can't exclude it, we'd be free to make IRA contributions on it. |
