|
|
hey all...
i have offers from both, need to decide sooner than later
ive read alot of bad about langcon avalon in Gumi and nothing bad or good about ILS Cheongju
any input from you knowledgeable folks?
simple breakdowns of each contract are as follows
LangconAvalon GUMI
2-9 mon-fri
2.1M won a month
-300,000 won for apt deposit SINGLE
-30,000 won a month for apt maintenance fee (first time i have ever seen this)
ils CHEONGJU
1030-630 mon-fri
2.2M won a month
no deduction for apt depost (single)
no deduction for maintenance
gut is telling me to run from Gumi, and go with Cheongju
Cheongju has one european english teacher (very nice interview, sounds pleasant) questions asked were thorough
Gumi interview was with native Korean master, seemed like more a social conversation than anything....
thoughts? |

I'm assuming you saw the thread I posted here on the Gumi school, in which case I don't think I need to make it any more obvious which school I would suggest you to go with..
Plus, there was no 30,000원 maintainence fee before... what the heck! On top of getting 1,000,000 less per month than Cheongju, you're also losing out on that fee.. in a year that's 12,360,000원 less plus more hours (unless something has changed, you don't actually go in at 2.. you will have to come in 2 hours earlier for prep time).
Did you speak with a man or woman? It's funny that they are doing the interview now.. perhaps they've now lost trust in their foreign staff to conduct the interview without saying anything negative about the school.
Cheongju is also a nicer, bigger city that's easier to get around with more choices of things to eat and do. Don't forget about the chemical explosion that happened in Gumi either.. |

Check this out:
http://blacklist.tokyojon.com/
And before anyone tells you how useless this information is and how only
negative (un-verifiable) tales are posted on that site,
let me tell you that anyone can post either positive or negative reveiws
there.
I have read a few rebuttals to negative posts, so it is not true
that no positive posts exist.
It just seems evident that there are very
few positive ones to go round.
So read at with a grain of salt if you want to, but there are reasons people
post the things they do.
