I have a PS3 that I bought in Korea (O button is the confirmation even). I normally use my US PSN account, but the Korean version of 'Last of Us' requires a code that wont work with my US PSN account. I tried having my Korean gf make a Korean PSN account using all her own information, but I got an error really early into the process. Anyone run into trouble making a Korean PSN account like this?

I made one using a friend's registration number for a similar code. I had no problem. That was some time ago though, before the whole shutting down of Korean PSN last year to stop kids from playing video games late at night. Rolling Eyes

The error is really strange. But not sure who I could see about fixing it since it is hard to tell what the issue is. The Korean one gave me an error before any ID stuff was mentioned. So can you still play games after midnight or does it depend on the age of the account you sign up with?

I'm in the same boat you are and had to find out the hard way that korea is blocking all new PSN account registration in Korea. your only way to solve this problem is to sell the korean version, purchase a PSN gift card (digital download) from amazon, and download a digital copy from your US account. don't look for sony and korea to solve this problem anytime soon (or ever).

What's the reason for blocking new Korean PSN?

there was a new law that went into effect last year where if you are under a certain age you can't play past midnight. since sony doesn't have a system in place to prevent kids from accessing the network after midnight they decided to cut new accounts all together. so if you happened to have an account before the law changed you are good but if you didn't then you are locked out. but i feel your pain. i really want to play TLOU online.

That is really BS. Looks like I am going to be ordering US games only on playasia.com after this. Luckily, only a few companies are requiring online codes to play at this point. Hope it isn't a trend
