Hey guys, my contract's up here and I'm headed home the long way through Thailand and India. I'd like to ship my laptop and SLR camera home rather than lug them around with me.

Does anyone know how the import duties work? Both items were purchased in the US and have been used for several years.

I know I can undervalue them when I declare but I'd like to be as honest as possible just in case something happens to the packages and I have to deal with the shipping companies.

Thanks!

Surely you'd have them insured, for which you'll need to declare them at proper value, yet how could it be taxed if both the sender and recipient is you and the package is marked as unaccompanied personal belongings?
