Just got back from Yongsan station to HBC, it is a mess out there, main roads are ok but even the main drag in HBC is very bad, didn't even ask the cab driver to go up the hill from Kobawoo.

think the USFK and KMA got this one right

I hope it keeps on coming down for longer than the other day - much of it was gone by Monday evening. A foot would be nice.

Would have made sense to put some grit down before the snow fell. Confused

Pointless putting it down before the snow, the snow will just cover and ice-over it. It's always continuous during and just after the snowfall.

If you're on any kind of hill, I strongly advise against driving today. My no-horse open Matiz slid down the hill like a terrifying sleighride this morning. If it wasn't for a curb next to the Family Mart, I would have been inside it.

Actually its a common practice in other countries to put some grit on the roads before it snows. It is not only an effective way on its own but makes the cleaning much easier during and after the snowfall.

It appears that the rest of the storm is hitting southern Korea. Most of that should be rain.

So, how much did you get?

You should probably start building a shelter and stockpiling fuel.

70% chance of precipitation tomorrow, north of Seoul at least.

Here we had at least a couple inches, enough to cause cars and people to slide around in town and all of the shopkeepers to get busy clearing their part of the side walk. This morning there were clear skies but there'd been a fresh fall overnight.

Seoul was hit with 7.8 centimeters (three inches) of snow as of 5 p.m. yesterday, causing traffic congestion during the evening rush hour. The Korea Meteorological Administration said a cold spell will continue today and that areas including Seoul will have snow again tomorrow.

USFK has already canceled school for Friday. It shouldn't be too bad but you never know, and combined with Wednesday's snow, plus a below-freezing day on Thursday, it will accumulate. Be ready.

We had traffic congestion so you call for people to go out and get groceries?

It's coming. It should start snowing heavily later this morning.
