You should focus on teaching (or doing) what interests you rather than chasing what is "in demand" at the moment.

Hence what the OP is saying. The MA has already pretty much become an entry-level requirement for a mediocre uni job in Korea paying 2.5 to 3.0 a month. This is due to an ever-increasing competition, a proliferation of online MA's, as well as other things. I don't see this changing anytime soon either, what with the continued cutbacks and a declining enrollment due to the shrinking birthrate.

Nope. Korean uni's fire (or 'don't renew') non-tenured foreign instructors on one-year contracts all the time for unexpected reasons. Esp. when new policies are passed, administration changes hands, etc.
