So it's been a while now. What do we know about Lanza? What drugs was he on? What games did he play/movies did he watch? Was he in treatment and for how long and with whom. Where did he get 6 handguns from (no assault weapon was used). Did he have any friends? Any runins with the law? Where is his facebook page? Any other photos? He went to a university @ age 16.. no uni photo? Who were his classmates in uni? What did they have to say? He doesn't even have his own wiki entry. Harris and Klebold do. This is very poor journalism. I looked around. Seems that the media isn't really looking into him.

It's as if 1) they want to spin the story as if an assault weapon walked into the school and shot it up on its own or 2) they've found something about Lanza they've decided doesn't fit the narrative.

Apparently both. No one wants to try to consolidate the information on this incident because every source says something different.
Here's a long gun of some kind being removed from the shooter's trunk. It seems to be a semi-automatic shotgun, but is definitely not an AR-15.

Lanza, despite being one of the worst mass murderers in US history, does not have a wiki page and has dropped from the news almost totally.

Adam Peter Lanza was born on April 22, 1992, in Exeter, New Hampshire.[91] He and his mother lived in Sandy Hook, 5 miles (8 km) from the elementary school.[92] He did not have a criminal record.[7][93][94] He attended Sandy Hook Elementary School for a brief time.[95] Afterward, he attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Newtown,[96] and then Newtown High School, where he was an honors student.[97] Lanza subsequently was home-schooled by his mother, and earned a GED.[98] Lanza's aunt said his mother removed him from the Newtown public school system because she was unhappy with the school district's plans for her son.[99] He attended Western Connecticut State University in 2008 and 2009.[98]
Adam Lanza

Students and teachers who knew him in high school described Lanza as "intelligent, but nervous and fidgety". He avoided attracting attention and was uncomfortable socializing. He is not known to have had any close friends in school.[92]

Lanza's brother told law enforcement that Adam was believed to have a personality disorder and was "somewhat autistic".[100] An anonymous law enforcement official[101] and friends of Nancy Lanza[102] reported that Adam had been diagnosed with Asperger syndrome.[103][104][105] According to the Hartford Courant and Frontline, Lanza was diagnosed with sensory integration disorder when he was about 6.[106] This disorder does not have official status by the medical community as a formal diagnosis but is frequently one of the characteristics of autism.[106]

Due to concerns that published accounts of Lanza's autism could result in a backlash against others with the condition, autism advocates campaigned to clarify that autism is a brain-related developmental problem and not a mental illness.[107] The predatory aggression demonstrated by Lanza in this rampage is generally not seen in the autistic population.[108]

Following her divorce from Adam's father, a corporate executive, Nancy Lanza was supported by alimony payments.[109][110][111] A relative commented that she did not have to work because the divorce settlement had left her "very well off". There were initially conflicting reports on whether Lanza had worked as a volunteer at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.[112]

Her sister-in-law described Nancy Lanza as a gun enthusiast, who owned at least a dozen firearms.[113][114][115][116] She often took her two sons to a local shooting range and had them learn to shoot.[109]

That's it?

Contrast with the Columbine shooters:

I've been waiting for some kind of motive (or attempt at explanation) to appear. Here's the best I could find:

Quote:
NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBSNewYork) Investigators may have pieced together a big part of the puzzle in determining what drove gunman Adam Lanza to murder twenty-six people at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.

Lanza was apparently obsessed with Norwegian gunman Anders Breivik, who killed seventy-seven people in July, 2011 during an attack in downtown Oslo and at a teen summer cap, according to sources who spoke to CBS News Correspondent Bob Orr.

Sources indicated that Lanza wanted to top Breiviks death toll, and chose Sandy Hook because it was an easy target with a large cluster of people. Lanza may have intended to kill more but was interrupted when police responded to the shooting.

Officials have not publicly revealed what evidence they have relating to Lanzas obsession with Breivik, however, they did recover a large quantity of video games from the basement of his home.

They're really phoning this in.

Columbine was first, therefore new and novel. Mass shooters are too common now to be interesting, the theatre shooter had the joker hook along with the apartment bombs, but Lanza just doesn't have that edge. Mass shootings have become almost a normalized aspect of our society.

Lanza is being treated differently and I'd like to know why. Wouldn't you?

It seems as if, and this is just my interpretation, that Lanza didn't leave as much behind. The columbine shooters lefter journals and a website and videos, the theater shooter is still alive, and actually interacted with people, and had things like essays that we can see. If Lanza didn't leave any journals behind, and only talked to his mom (which it sounds like may be the case) then there is simply less material to work with.
