So my wife and I woke up this morning and were just about to jump on a bus towards Myeongdong when we decided to stop at our local 7-11. As I was staring at the drink case my eyes zeroed in on a can of blue and red deliciousness. Before me sat a can of Red Bull! At first I thought, "sweet they bought some redbull off of some military folk and are selling it" As I turned the can over in my hand I realized something that I have NEVER seen on a can of Red Bull. Hangul all up and down the back of the can. And it wasn't a sticker slapped on top of the nutritional information, no! This was a legitimate can of Red Bull. I've searched google for information about Red Bull distribution in Korea, but I haven't found a thing. They had a big BC One event back in July and also had some base jumpers and wing suiters flying over the Han. I imagine all of this was connected with the release of Red Bull in South Korea.
As a former member of the Red Bull mobile energy team(those people who drive around in the mini coopers with the big can on top) for 2.5 years it is an understatement to say I'm excited. I'm freakin' pumped! I know not everyone is going to be as excited as I am, but I know a few will be glad they can get their Red Bull fix closer to home. Oh! and the best part is I didn't have to pay 4,000 won for a can like you do in Itaewon. I paid 2,750 won!
Time to go get your crack in a can.

I think it is pretty new, but wasn't Red Bull made legal here a while ago?

I'll stick to Hot Six - muuuuch cheaper.

Only seen the "legit" version in Family Marts so far but it's been available for a good few weeks. Brave decision to go for such a premium price-point but best of luck to them...

There are new brands of energy drinks on the market.

Hot Six Energy Up is Silver and black.

Hot Six Power Up is Blue and orange.

The orange can could be another brand, however, it could be Power Up.

Hot Six is a Lotte Brand.

So the orange can could be another.

Red Bull is on sale at Costco this week. It's normally 26,900 for 12 cans but this week you can get that 12 pack for 8,000 off at 18,900. The sale ends this Sunday, Jan 20th.

I tried hot six once. Didn't like it. I'm pretty sure there are cheaper and more tastier ways to pump your body full of sugar and caffeine.

"In Korea" I would never buy Red Bull since it's a total rip off. Furthermore..., 'Red Bull Lawsuit: Company Uses Deceptive Marketing, Says Plaintiff'

NEW YORK, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Red Bull, the popular energy drink whose slogan is "gives you wings," provides no more energy than a cup of coffee or a caffeine pill, according to a lawsuit made public on Wednesday.

btw.. stuff is NOT the same. It's been in Korea for about a year now.

The caffeine content for the stuff sold in Korea got toned way down, its in line with a can of coke now since Korea has more regulatory laws about how much caffeine can be in a soda.
