Read it, pages 28 - 39. There is also an intro on page 6. I thought the symbolic stigma part on page 34 was good as well as many of the quoted headlines we've made through the years. I didn't know Lee, Myung-bak broke a promise or lied concerning Eng. Teachers and the constitutional judge quote on the last page about foreigners not having the same fundamental rights as Korean nationals, etc...Some of the teacher comments at the bottom of the pages are stupid.

It seems to be unclear just who you should share your health check results to when you receive them(see page 38 - last paragraph before "Legal Challenges")?

It is against the law for doctors etc...to share your information with just anyone. Maybe the education ministry is the only place you should give your consent?

"Doctor convicted for breaching confidentiality of suspected HIV patient"

Gusts of Popular Feeling comment: "As many teachers on E-2 visas - or in the public school system - have experienced, medical tests which include HIV and drug tests have sometimes become water cooler conversations for their co-workers (a friend had co-teachers mention to him that they'd heard his cholesterol was too high). As per the case above, HIV records of foreign English teachers - whether HIV positive, suspected of being HIV positive or HIV negative - should be private and shouldn't be released to public school officials without express consent from the teachers, but clearly that's not how things work."

Butt out, Patrick, your personal attack is unwarranted.

Los Angeloser, I didn't see a link to the article there, just the cover for the April issue. Is the article only available in the paper edition?

It was not even funny. Just had a bad day and posted that.

I was unwarranted and Los, you have my apologies for it.
