I'm looking for a dentist in Daegu that speaks English well (not just passably), is foreigner-friendly, has a well-equipped clinic and is located reasonably. I've heard of one in Kyeongsan, but that is just too far. If you could recommend any that are downtown, close to it or even near Daegok station, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! |

The best i can offer is Jisan Dong.. which is near Arianna Brau and TBC.
If you're interested, let me know. I don't want to explain directions if this area is inconvenient. |

Dr. Nam at Dongsan Hospital (by Seomun Market) is a miracle worker. |

I need a dentist in daegu and I'm thinking I'll probably find Dr Lee easier than the others mentioned here.
Has anyone been to him for any kind of dental work and can recommend him?
(yes, yes Thailand is better and cheaper but that's not an option for me) |

Yes i went to Dr. Lee in July for a check-up and cleaning.
His facilities are awesome (clean, new, open and bright- i can even look at what he's talking about on a little screen in font of me while he uses a mini camera in my mouth).
His English is spot on and I had no problem understanding him.
It cost me 60,000 for a thorough cleaning and check-up. I will go back to have some work done in the future that he recommended (but said it wasn't completely necessary right away).
I think the galbi=jim directions have been updated but it's right downtown east of banwoldang intersection above the Korean exchange bank on the norht side.
Hope this helps. |

Ye Dental Clinic in Daegu is rather upscale. He is very skillful and speaks good for Korea English, some of his stuff also speaks English.
They are a bit pricey by Korean standarts but still at least twice cheaper than in the US.
A year after he did some work for me and my gf, it is all very solid. Another dentist looked at my x-rays and said that it is all very good work.
Dr Joo is extremely efficient. The way he he sat things up is that he does the most advanced parts of the work, and his stuff, which he trained very well do the rest.
They might try to offer you teeth whitening and there is a lot of self-promotion with videos, posters, and awards but deep down is a real pro. He always tries to save as much tooth as possible and I think he keeps patients interests foremost.
In short, I am very pleased with his work and would not hesitate to go to the clinic again.
Oh, one more thing. They do panoramic x-rays on all patients. Insist that they put led-shield as some of the girls sometimes forget about it.
Directions: Daegu, Banwoldang Station, exit 12. the 6th floor of the building closest to the subway exit with Citibank on the ground floor. |
