I received my travel itinerary from my recruiter by email late last night. My flights are booked for early Sunday morning. They have confirmation numbers and everything but seats are not assigned. I contacted the airlines and they saidthe travel agency has not yet paid for my flights and there is a 1 day deadline for today to pay for them. Am I expected to pay? I was told the school would cover the cost of travel earlier. Even if they plan to reimburse me, I can not find a way to myself pay to the travel agency (travelport). Any advice? I feel my recruiter is now uncontactable because it is the weekend.

Not your problem. If it was booked, then prepare for that date.

Why you are calling the airline company is beyond me. If I had your phone and electric bills in hand, I wouldn't be calling the companies to see if they were paid yet.

That is unless you are actually willing to pay. If not, talk to the recruiter.

Don't talk to the airline companies. Plain and simple. If the deadline comes and goes, then the recruiter will need to book another flight. Plain and simple.

A travel agent called me to confirm the tickets. However I have noticed that one of the seats switched from 'not assigned' to '16D' back to 'not assigned' again, as is the other flight. I guess as long as I have my e-tickets I shouldn't be as paranoid.
