Hi all-

I was wondering if it is possible to apply for a Chinese Z working visa in Korea. I'm thinking about taking a uni job that would start in September and would prefer to get my visa here than to travel home or to a different country to process my visa. I know the tourist visa rules changed last summer and I'm not sure if that changed anything dealing with a Z visa.

If you or anyone you know has done this in Korea please let me know how it works! Thanks in advance.

I got my Z-visa in Seoul about 2 years ago. Unless things have changed it should be no problem.

Had to pay an outrageous amount (about 200,000) for the medical exam at one of the clinics "authorized" by the Chinese consulate (huge scam as I then had to pay for ANOTHER medical check a few weeks later in China). If I remember correctly, I also had to go through a travel agency to get the visa as I couldn't deal directly with the Chinese consulate (another minor money grab). But get all the paperwork from your future employer and you should be able to do it in Korea.

Correct me if this has changed in the last 2 years.

Hey,

What clinics are "authorized" for the Z visa medical check?

Does anyone have a link to the list of authorized clinics in Seoul?

thanks

Any official enough looking hospital should do it.

I used Good Morning Hospital in Pyeongtaek because it was near my place.

And that was fine, so think anything on par with that should be acceptable.

All the required checks cost 30,000 won.

Just make sure you print out the correct form for them to complete....

Are you actually applying for your visa from Seoul, or elsewhere? If you do it from another country in all likeliness the embassy there won't accept a Korean medical check and will require you to do an additional local one.
