Does anyone know a program that can open .mwd files? A friend of mine gave me some docs and they are in this format. |

I checked About.com and it tells me that mwd is likely a Microsoft Access file. If you don't haved Access, try opening the file with OpenOffice.org's Base program. |

Not Access. If this is a newish document, it's most likely from Mariner Write: https://www.marinersoftware.com/products/marinerwrite/
That's all I could find except for some very old photo program and some engineering specific stuff. |

Mariner Write? Never heard of it. Is it any good?
OP: Perhaps you should contact whoever sent you the file and ask what program they used. You should also hope they're not fond of manually entering file extensions just for fun ("It's easier for me to know what the file's for if I change the '.doc' to '.abc'. Yeah, right. Like that'll help a computer know what kind of file it is.). |

If I remember correctly, the program that opened these files had "edit" or "editor" in it, but I can't remember what it was. It was like a really old version of Word.
At the moment, I am unable to contact the person. |
