This is for teachers from the U.K. who have applied for the CRC through Disclosure Scotland. Were there any hiccups with the online application form? It says that I would need to have been resident in the U.K. for 12 months, and I worked abroad during a big part of 2012. But I am from the U.K. and spent most of my life there. Do I have to get a paper application form? If so will I have to get a whole lot more paperwork and will there be delays?

I would like to hear from British people who have applied through disclosure Scotland. No wisecracking Americans please. Your process will have been different.

Do it online and just provide scans as proof of address and forward them onto them via email once you've an 'reference' number.

I did it last April with no dramas and it went to my family home where my UK banks are registered.

It took less than 10 days but they forgot to legalise it for the apostille. Ask them to do this and then chase them up on it as it will save you money.

I've done it multiple times online. You don't need the paper form. First time I did it almost five years ago now I was going to send all those scanned documents in an email later, but the check arrived before I sent them.

I've been living abroad for five years now, and I there have been no problems with them processing my check since then. Basically all I do is order it online, pay the fee, and wait for it to come.

Disclosure Scotland isn't exactly a great service for doing all those mandatory checks of waiting for proof of address etc... Order it online and I am pretty sure you will have no problems with receiving it. I haven't.

Thanks for your replies. I did not think it would actually be that simple.
