Do most of you just take a self-shot and send that pic in with your resume?
Perhaps some get professional pics done to help land a job in what seems to be a pretty competitve market these days?
I'm in my late 30's and probably need all the help I can get.
Is it worth it to get professional photos done? Or would a self-shot more than suffice?
How about attire? Shirt and tie enough, or should I throw on the suit jacket for the pics?
Thanks. |

Passport style photo.
Shirt and tie are adequate but a jacket never hurts.
10k won at any photo shop in Korea (including TESCO and E-mart).
Get the digital copy (to attach to your digital resume) as well as the prints for your visa application (needed later).
If you want to add some snapshots of you in previous "teaching" situations (classroom activities (demo classes, open classes), field trips, etc) then they go at the end of the resume and can be a good thing (landed me my last 2 teaching jobs in spite of my gray hair).

I was backpacking and in front of Big Ben in mine.
Passports are probably the best though. |

I sent in a self shot..
I don't think it matters as long as you are presentable and smiling..
A smile is very important for teaching in Korea it seems..
I always look like a dead person on passport photos so for me, the self shot was better..
I guess it all depends on the person. |

Do you normally paste your pic on the cover letter, or just send it along with the resume as a jpg? |
