AUTHORITIES have launched an appeal for the Korean mother of a newborn boy left at a southwest Sydney hospital to come forward.

The 30-year-old woman attended Canterbury Hospital late last Monday night and left shortly after the babys birth the following day.

While she left her details with hospital staff, they have been unable to track her down and Minister for Family and Community Services, Pru Goward, urged the woman to come forward to provide important information about the baby who has been named Ahn.

If you are baby Ahns mum or if you know baby Ahns mum, please come forward, Ms Goward said. She must not fear she is in any trouble with Community Services. We know how difficult childbirth and all that attaches to it can be for some women and we want to be helpful.

While the baby has been staying with foster carers in an undisclosed location in Sydney, the department wants to discuss long-term options for Ahn - who has been described as a beautiful, healthy baby boy - with his mother.

This mum may feel she cant care for her baby, but we really would like to hear from her, Ms Goward said.

The department has contacted the Korean community to assist in their inquiries.

Hope there is a happy ending to this story.

Why post this?

a). Trying to help spread the word in an attempt to help the situation.

b). Post any story that paints a Korean person in bad light.

Well, this is Dave's!
