First of all this is the third dog this old lady has had in the last 6 months. Second, I brought my co teacher along to speak to the owner and she confirmed that the dog WAS being used for dinner just like the other dogs had been. Third, the dog was outside my class window during winter camp crying the entire day in the freezing cold. She was out there 24 hours a day. Am I still being delusional that the dog was going to be used for dinner?
So yes in this case the dogs life in Canada will be a hundred times better.
Stop assuming. |

Oh right. So the dog was "crying" because it was freezing and it knew it would end up on someone's dinner plate...In other words, it was going through an existential crisis.
Stop anthropomorphizing dogs.
PS. That dog will be colder in Canada than it ever was in Korea. |

OP,
I was in Korea a few years back, and ended up with a cocker spaniel that was about to be sold to a restaurant.
To make a long story short, I ended up bringing him home with me, which was a pretty easy (but EXPENSIVE) process. It ended up costing twice as much to fly the dog home than it was for me, but well worth it. Also make sure you let the airline know ahead of time about the animal, and be prepared to pay a hefty over baggage fee. I also had to pay a fee with the agricultural office at the Vancouver airport to get him into the country.

You can search the regulations by country, it should help.
All in all, it was a pain, but, that little guy was the best friend I ever had until he passed away. Best of luck to you and your dog! |
