Hello! I just recently accepted a short-term teaching position in Korea and am in the process of gathering all of the documents needed for a C-4 Visa. I am completely new to this process, and have done lots of research, but I still feel a little lost! I was hoping that by posting here, I'd be able to get some clarification on the question I have.
I'm aware I need to get apostilles for the copy of my diploma and my FBI background check. I have talked to my state's Secretary of State's office and was told in order to receive an apostille for these documents I'd need to write out a statement saying something along the lines that "this is a true copy..." and get that notarized. I will then have to get it notary certified at the Clerk of Courts.
Has anyone else ever done this? If so, is it OK to get the statement page notarized instead of the actual document? Or do I need to make sure I get the actual copy of the diploma and actual FBI check notarized? I'm worried about doing it wrong, so if anyone has had any experience with this and can offer any help I would appreciate it! Thanks! |
