Need a notebook for internet, word, powerpoint, occasional movies, streaming video. No games at all.

Any reccomendations? Is Danawa the best place to look for them? Opinions on Samsung and HP laptops?

650K is the highest I want to pay.

Edit: This decent?

Not a great one for the price.
Only USB 2.0 for starters.

I'd go 200k won lower (464k):

or 70k won lower:

For something comparable that will have ample horsepower to do the tasks you ask.

not too long ago, I bought an Acer notebook for 500K won - the speed was great and the size of the screen was 17'.

There were two problems - graphics card (I haven't done proper research back then - the graphics card was horrible), and the quality of the screen.

The graphics card bit is not an issue if games are not one of your concerns, but the quality of the screen may become an issue. The acer screen was not great since it was either too bright or too dark (depending on what you were looking at) and the colours were always displayed in an odd manner (youtube videos were oversaturated, while normal pics were OK, yet if you turned the colour saturation down, youtube videos looked very bland, and all in all, the colours were always a bit messed up).

Apparently Acer notebook screens are poorly done, it is something that http://www.notebookcheck.net/ confirms. I know that HP screens are also subpar - and I would recommend you to check the notebookcheck.net for more info. If you find a model you like, check the reviews on the site (the site I'm recommending provides very detailed reviews), and go from there.

The point being - the quality of the screen is very important. You may end up with a powerhouse and yet a screen that always seems off by a bit, no matter how you calibrate it.

PS. Samsung notebook screens are OK from what I recall.

Intel's new Haswell CPUs are out very soon. I would suggest waiting a few weeks.

Asus Vivobook s200 - around 500k for the base model

More of a netbook style - only 11" (other models up to 15", but that puts the price up)

Weighs 1.4kg, has a touch screen.

I'm thinking of the 11" model with a faster processor. I like the portability of the netbook style, and this is the best low end model from what ive seen.
