Do you fare well in Korea?
Financially?
Accommodations?
Workload?
Moreover, I'd heard you can no longer make visa runs to Japan if you don't like your job. Is this true?
I just want to get a feeling of how things are now since maybe I'd like to return. My goal would be to teach at a university. I've come back to the U.S. and have gotten an MAED but know you have to be certified, too, in order to teach at universities.
Or is this still a grey area? |

Most universities want a related MA, which you have, and 2 years of universisty teaching experience. While that is more apt to be a stipulation for higher tiered universities, those outside of major cities may not hold you to it. |

Financially? Korea, Seoul in particular, has been exceptionally good to us.
Accomodations? Loopy expensive.
Workload? Tough to compare. Most of my ESL buddies teach 4 classes a term. I teach 2, but I'm not in ESL and I'm tenured.
Visa runs? Not an issue. Got the green card. |
