Okay, so I'm expecting the obvious answer will be the iPad, but I'm hoping for something cheaper and more versatile. Don't mind something older and without LTE, since I'm likely only going to get the wi-fi version anyway.
Of course, in doing a bit of research, I see that Apple may be announcing the iPad 5 as soon as tomorrow (Sept 10 in the US), and that Samsung's Galaxy Tab whatever may not be far behind.
I've never had much interest in tablets, but with a great deal of the reading I have to do for a course I'm doing being online, I think it will prove quite useful. As I haven't had much interest, I haven't paid attention to international/Korea release dates. Are iPads subject to the same waiting period as iPhones, where even a release date in a few weeks to a month won't have the new iPad here until November/December?

Does it have to be 10 inches or so in size? If not, look at the Nexus 7. There's a new one that just came out, and it's rather nice and not as expensive as the others in its size category.
Or, if you just want to read, why not get an ebook reader? Those are cheaper and there are a huge variety, from Amazon's rather locked in ecosystem to ones from Kobo or Sony. |

It doesn't have to be 10 inches I guess, but I like the set up where you have a keyboard/cover. I suppose I could still get a keyboard, but it wouldn't be as convenient.
I'll use it for more than just reading (I don't do much pleasure reading, tbh), so a kindle type device is probably not the right fit. |

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, which is freaking awesome.
The new 10.1 is coming out soon. I'd get that.

Looked into that Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 edition, and it looks awesome.
Any info on price and release date for Korea?
Samsung's product names make it kind of hard to search for information about them. |

Seems like it is being released September 25. Don't know if that is for Korea, though we should get a Samsung product on or near the release date, yeah?
Any word on price? Even an educated guess based on previous Samsung releases? |

Around 800k if you buy at a HiMart or Samsung store.
Around 700k if you buy online.
That’s for the 16 Gb version.
The 32 Gb version will be 100k or so more. |
