Hi guys,
I blew up a few things this week. In my paranoia I haven't been plugging any of my stuff in lately. I finally figured out what went wrong but I still lost a surge protector an my xbox power brick.
I know how to fix this now BUT I was wondering if it would just be much simpler to buy a power cord for my computer monitor and xbox one instead of using a converter or would that work? |
Check the back of your monitor. It should show 100-240v, so using a Korean bought power cord would be fine.
Not 100% certain about the xbox one(only have 360 from US), but think you'll need to get another power brick. The M$ website says there are 100-110V, 220-240V, and 100-240V versions. If I were you, I would try to get the 100-240v version if you can. That way you can use it here or in the US/Can.
They have some knock-offs on amazon and elsewhere, but make sure you read the comments as it seems like some of them don't even work while others are really loud.
This may get things done for you under warranty, albeit maybe not as quickly as you'd like...

Pretty sure I bought my kinect usb power supply adapter from this place, and I had no problems with the product or service(but I can't guarantee anything regarding the 100-240v PSU for the xbox one)...
