I know this is old but there seems to be no recent info about SKU so I thought I'd post. I have two friends who work there. One teaches 6 hours over 2 days. The other does 9 hours over 3 days. While they say there are office hours it seems no one keeps them. The salary isn't the best but when you take info account you're only working 2-3 days and have full breaks ie 5 months vacay, it's not bad. You can use the extra time to study or work elsewhere. |

While everyone is free to calculate things as they want to. If after term and pre term paperwork is counted I don't think that anyone gets five months vacation at any school . After term paper work can take up to two weeks to finish. And there is pre- term paper work and meetings as well. If you have to do work then it is not vacation.
And how do you universities pay for vacations? By paying a low salary. |

I stay on top of paperwork. After finals I go into school for one day to enter grades. Before the semester starts I have one meeting that takes a couple hours. That's about it. Not bad. The salary isn't the best but it's not just about money but also lifestyle. My job allows me to work four days a week and have five months vacay. That means I'm actually a part of my daughter's life while she's growing up. I remember seeing my dad for about 30 minutes in the morning and maybe for an hour or two at night. Not what I want for my daughter.
My free time allows me to persue other interests and over the years I've figured out how to make an additional income passively. To each their own. |
