It occurs to me you could learn a lot from the below thread, Mr. Argument guy. We are in Asia, you had better know where you are...

By "ripped apart" I assume you mean thru pointless Western argument.

Do you do this around your Koreans coworkers and friends? I'm guessing you don't have any Korean friends. Idea

This is why you arrive at these bizarre conclusions.

You get an idea in your head and you justify it with without any evidence to support your premises.

From your comments here and elsewhere it seems that you are a cultural chauvinist who seems to think that the 'East' is superior to the 'West'.

Yawn, always with the "premises" and "evidence" and...

Putin is in charge, not you.

Well yeah, evidence is needed to support a premise. If you are ever on trial you better hope that is the case.

I take your argument that Putin is in charge and therefore respond with a reminder that public commentary on an issue such as this is a benefit to the reader as it can help them understand the issue from many different viewpoints.

I await your rebuttal and I look forward to a healthy debate.

Dude, I don't make arguments, and I don't do debate, you do that. I make observations. How many times does it have to be said?

See thread I posted before.

Wonderful rebuttal, and may I say, a very canny debating strategy!

Your argument is that your assertions are truth and therefore do not need evidence because they are true.

But how can you arrive at the conclusion that your assertions are true without any evidence?

I posit that your argument about not needing evidence is fundamentally flawed as you cannot test any of your premises.

In your no doubt speedy rebuttal to this post maybe you could explain why you have rejected evidence and by extension logic.

This debate really is getting interesting.

20 odd posts in two days from the guy who doesn't debate??

If you only make observations, you can state it in one post and do one.

The fact is you want to debate and that is why you cannot stop posting and you will no doubt respond to this post, fellow lover of arguments.

Lol, you are now debating with me about not being in a debate.

About which you will no doubt disagree thus perpetuating our debate into one big tedious circle.

Idea Idea Idea Finally you understand! Idea Idea Idea

Has everyone EVER won a debate on Dave's? Of course not. All this talk of "prove it", or "state your case" is pointless. If I tell Atwood "2+2=4" he will say "show me the proof". How can that be answered?

The objective of argument is argument.

I was talking about our debate becoming tediously cyclical.

Premise: No one has ever won a debate on Daves.

Conclusion: No debate is ever useful.

The problem with that reasoning is that a) you have not defined what winning a debate entails and b) you have no evidence that nobody has ever won.

This is why you keep making logically unsound arguments.

And no saying you are part of the Asian master race and therefore everything you say is simply true, is not a valid rebuttal.

Also you seem to be under the misapprehension that the point of these debates is to 'win'. In fact most the time the point is simply to discuss.

I for example have no expectation that my argument will 'win' against big vern and that is not my goal.
