I think some people are just negative in general. I have spoken to people from one of the groups I'm in and they were able to get jobs just fine using certifications from i-to-i and Oxford Seminars. Oxford Seminars has the course that's 60 in-class hours, plus 40 online hours. So that would satisfy the need for at least 100 hours, plus give you the much needed in-class hours. I'm actually thinking about taking that class instead of the 120 hour i-to-i online course. So, I say go for it. It's hard to find those in-class courses that are close to my location. Everything is in the big cities.

Thanks! I might have to check with Korvia myself. I as also curious about Oxford Seminars. There is one 2 hours away from me and I can do it on the weekends when I am off work. It doesn't seem to be well-thought of on these boards, but I don't know if I have any other option to get that in-class component that seems to be important.

Yeah, I know the course isn't prestigious like CELTA, but that is farther away and I can't take a month off of work. I thought that the Oxford Seminars was like 3 weekends and so many in-class hours (which would satisfy some of the in-class hours if you wanted to go someplace like Busan). I took an online TESOL groupon course (which isn't worth too much) but I didn't get any in-class hours. It seems like that is somewhat desired. I'm thinking of signing up for that Oxford Seminars, though I wish I could do the CELTA. I emailed Korvia and they said you can start applying through the online portal for EPIK starting in July. Did you decide to go with them? It's hard because there are 8 recruiters to choose from...
