Hey guys,

Was wondering if anyone purchased a memory foam mattress topper on gmarket. I am looking for some assistance in finding / buying the best one (value wise).

Or maybe I should go with a latex one?

Thanks

I purchased a memory foam mattress topper about five years ago and am still using it. I paid about $200 for a queen size if my memory is correct.

None of my business, but any health professional will tell you that sleeping on the hardest surface possible is idea for back and bone health.

(Similar logic to wearing flat shoes and not ones with big curves and cushions.)

I'd advise you to do a bit of unbiased research, but if you want to avoid years and possibly a life time of back pain, get the firmest mattress you can, or risk ending up like the old koreans bent over at a 90degree angle.

Didn't most of these old Korean's with the bad backs sleep on a pretty hard surface (a floor pad) for most of their lives?

Didn't seem to do them much good.....

I second that....and every korean I know...and I know hundreds and hundreds...sleep on the floor! As do their parents/grandparents...and many have back problems! I think....the back problems for the older folks is job related...bending over in the rice patties type jobs for years and years.

Not sure if there's one near you, but Hyundai Department has these sorts of things (both memory foam and latex) that you can check out and feel for yourself. I always prefer being able to do that over buying something online.

If there isn't a Hyundai near you, there may be some smaller local store that sells the same things. I got a ~200,000 won latex matress topper at a smaller shop.

Of course, in the end, I bit the bullet and bought a firm Simmons mattress and have been happiest with that. But that takes time to save up for (though, most places allow you to break expensive items into two payments).

If your set on getting a topper, I think latex is better. It gives more firm support and better padding. I've never like memory foam because it completely flattens to nothing under my shoulder blades and sacrum, but pushes into the middle of my back.

Hope that helps.
