I used to make "net" 4.3 million KRW per month, before I quit. I don't think teaching English is good if you are planning on doing something else, or if teaching is not your main interest, but that's just my opinion.
I started working as a project manager at a small company right after i quit, making around 2.5 million, the pay was crap but at least I enjoyed it. I've now been a PM for around 7 years, so yeah... making much more than what I used to teaching English and also having fun |
Ah yes. Judging by the sheer number of teachers who make over 4M here and then are selected for top-tier management the moment they set foot back in the west, one really has to recommend korea as the springboard to success in life. |

If people want to know what people are generally making, just look at the Jobs Board to see what hogwans, unis and public schools generally pay.
If it's worth it totally dependent on your circumstances and goals. |

This does not matter if the big picture is deflation. |

Prices are lower than they were eight years ago? Are you sure about that? Can anyone who was in Korea back then confirm this? |

Prices on almost everything in Korea have definitely shot up. At least twice what they were 15 years ago, which is a reasonable rate of inflation. Entry-level wages, on the other hand, have hardly budged. |

Too many people trying to live like a prince/princess. Imagine how much better we have it than most people living in Europe during the Dark Ages. |
