Well, this sensational case might partly explain how anti-American sentiments developed and have been perpetuated in South Korean mass media ... https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/california-man-sentenced-to-20-years-in-jail-over-1997-murder-in-seoul/2016/01/29/d0cba998-c207-4c26-b7af-c70ca7285047_story.html

In the movie, both murderers were Korean. (Korean-American)
Somehow, according to the press, one is no longer of Korean heritage....just American?
In the Chicago Tribune, both are Americans. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/ct-south-korea-burger-king-murder-20160129-story.html
Quote:
Patterson and Lee, both teenagers at the time, accused each other of killing Cho, who was found with multiple stab wounds in the Burger King bathroom and died on the way to a hospital. Cho was a stranger to both Americans.

Would this be considered race-baiting? Or just deflection of race?
Seems more than a little duplicitous.
