I heard that you can get an exemption on your taxes for the first two years you work in South Korea as an English teacher. I know you qualify for this exemption if you work for the public school system e. g. EPIK but do you also qualify for this exemption if you work at an international school?
I'm looking into teaching at Seoul International School and was curious if my salary would be taxed? Does anyone have experience with taxes and international schools? |

The exemption only applies if you work at a public school or publicly funded university.
It does not apply if you work at a company or corporate entity, private school, private university, hagwon or if you are Canadian.
