Thank you,

I will be going to Japan ^^

I have edited this post. I shall not name the school's but if you receive a contract please read it very carefully. I have received many offers to teach in South Korea and I am quite familiar with the process. Please ask for pictures of the housing before you sign the contract. Remember you can always decline an offer if you suspect something is wrong. I hope this is helpful.

Thank you. Have a great day![/b] Very Happy

I'd be very careful about naming and shaming a school while still in Korea. Korea's slander and libel laws are very strict and costly.

The TRUTH is not a defense in Korea. Even if you are telling the truth, one can still be sued for slander and libel. I would remove the name of the school asap.

As for the school you mentioned in Changwon, I don't know the school personally but if you have any other questions about Changwon feel free to ask. I have lived in Changwon for over 16 years now.

If you wish to find out about the school, you'd be better of joining this group and asking there, https://www.facebook.com/groups/20647335233/?ref=bookmarks[/u]

Dear Sir or madam,

Thank you for your post. I am not in South Korea at the moment. I would like to help inform individuals/teachers that some schools in South Korea have terrible practices and motives. If one does not mention the name of the school how can I help inform others?

I may alter or delete my post. Nevertheless, there should be a way to help inform others.

I do not have a facebook account but thank you very much for the link.

Sincerely,
Language020

No worries mate.

It sounds like you plan on returning to Korea though, so I'd be careful about that post. You wouldn't be the first teacher to post about a bad school on Daveseslcafe and get sued for it.

Unfortunately, there is no real safe way to report about bad schools safely while still in or planning on returning to Korea. It sucks but things have always been skewed in the favor of schools/employers in Korea.

If you don't have a Facebook account, ask a friend who has one if you can use theirs to have a look at that link I sent you. Most teacher groups are on Facebook these days and Dave's has become a ghost town compared to a decade ago.

IF you are in Korea or planning to return to Korea then be careful.

If you are out of Korea with no plan to return then feel free to name and shame. Korean libel and slander laws end at the Korean border. They cannot touch you once you have left.
