Does anybody know where the best place to run in or near Seoul would be? I am a female and would like to continue training for a marathon while in Seoul so would like to figure out where the best places to run are and where I might be able to find running groups. I will be in Yeongdeungpo (near or in Seoul).

Thanks.

I don't know much about running in Seoul - I think a lot of people run and rollerblade along the Han River.

But there is a 1/4 marathon for foreigners in May; if you are interested you can find more information on the Korea Herald website.

Here's a link for information about marathons that I saw elsewhere.

You can also run at elemntary, middle, and high school playgrounds--some are bigger than others. A lot of people do this, but I imagine it would get a little tedious if you were training for a marathon.

The only thing I know is that if anyone appraches you about the "Hash" (a running group full of mostly military crew), do your running in the *opposite* direction.

If the "hash" you are referring to is the Hash House Harriers, that type of run involves running and drinking at the same time, and it's pretty crazy. For anyone training seriously, running in the opposite direction is good advice!Smile)
